Attention educators and administrators— you need this assembly in your high school and I’ll tell you why. The topic of addiction and suicide are topics we must discuss with our young people. Jen spoke with real talk and emotion to our students. I’ve never seen a presenter command an audience like she did. Her strength, real emotion and true love for her brother, his story and her experience formed an instant connection with the students. THE STUDENTS WERE SILENT! When does that happen? Never. They truly listened. It would be a disservice not to have this presentation at your school. I was able to speak with students in the afternoon who expressed that the assembly was: “moving” — “it got deep, real deep” — “eye opening” — “she kept it real” and “I have a choice.” We are incredibly thankful for Jen.”

Jen Leone has experienced more shock, pain, and grief in her young life than most every will experience in their entire life. Although we know that loss is an unfortunate experience everyone can share no matter their socio-economic status or age, Jen’s ability to connect with high school students from diverse backgrounds, including those from the affluent suburbs to those from impoverished, violent areas, is remarkable. She spoke to our students in a way that made them want to listen and self-reflect.”

Jamie Smyth - Principal

Jen was amazing. I have never been in an assembly where our students have been silent. They truly were intently listening. Their lives were changed and she absolutely made a difference. One of my most challenging students told me he wouldn’t leave until he was able to find her after the assembly to give her a hug.”

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

“Thank you so much for coming to our school. It touched me and for once in my life I felt like I could be vulnerable. Your brother’s story touched my heart and so many others. Thank you.”

“Thank you Ms. Jen! The assembly was amazing. I know it took so much courage to get up there and share that with all of us and that meant the world to me. You really reinforced how much power our choices can have. Thank you so much.”

“The speech you gave today about your brother was beautiful. You were bluntly honest about it all and didn’t sugar coat any parts. Your presentation was beautiful, thank you for sharing it with my school. I hope I have the same courage as you one day to share my own story.”
